This is a lovely drawing! It sounds like your drawing teacher is suggesting other tools you can use for getting an image down on paper. Each teacher has something unique to offer that you can file away for your own future reference. I think the best thing about studying with someone is that you can take in all they have to teach but in the end you still have to find your own way.
Pine cone and pencils...a very quick sketch...unable to load up on T.A.D. I am hoping I will be able to get it up there later.
