I have been working on *the boat*...I am almost finished, and I have it sitting up where I can view it, and decide my next step...I am doing it with WC pencils, I think I need to put another layer of wash on the water.....It makes me nervous.
I very much like the geometry of this painting. It's almost abstract. The colors work, too. Maybe a wee bit more contrast in value between the front of the boat and the water would make it a tad more visible. Don't be afraid .... my mantra is, "it's only paper, it's only paper". I find that helps me let go of it enough to be a bit braver. nancy
I'm just starting to learn how to draw and would like to use water colour pencils. When you say your nervous about another wash over the water, I think you should be brave and if it goes wrong at least you have learned, nothing is ever a waste when we learn from it.
